Once upon a time I earned my living as an architectural designer, then as an architectural photographer. Several years and many weddings and portraits later, I have made a complete and successful transition to the world of wedding and portrait photography…and I am so glad that I have! Dale and Laura were married at The Arena Stage, in the brand new Kogod Cradle, on July 30. 2011. Along with Jill, my very talented assistant and second photographer, I had the honor and the pleasure of photographing the first wedding at the new Arena Stage. As much as I have come to love wedding and portrait photography, on more than one occasion during this day…and night…I found myself longing for a Hassleblad with a digital back and a sturdy tripod to grab some arch shots of this amazing place (for more on the architecture and the architects, see this article). But even more amazing than the facility was the occasion….Dale and Laura’s wedding. As much as an any wedding I have photographed, this one has a special place in my memory and my heart…and speaking of memories, here a few images from the day.
