Last Sunday, we spent the morning with Kevin and Megan and their two children at Meadowlark Gardens, in Northern Virginia. It was our first visit to Meadowlark Gardens as photographers. We had heard so much about the park and the gardens there that our expectations were unrealistically high. Shannon was expecting to see something akin to the tulip fields of Holland and I was thinking along the lines of the Gardens of Versailles. As it turned out, Meadowlark Gardens is a nice park in Northern Virginia. Versailles it is not and that’s probably a good thing. But the three lakes, the winding paths, the bridges and the well landscaped gardens and hills offer great places to photograph a family and children. This was a challenging day to shoot…with temperatures near 90, 2 days out of April, intermittent rain and humidity near 100%…but Kevin, Megan and the kids were up to it and really shined!
Our thanks to them for being such great sports! A few of our favorites from the session.
